become a referee

If you’d like to become a referee, there are multiple opportunities available to you through CYSC.

  • Referee in our u8 program – This is a great opportunity for players in the club to get acquainted with refereeing in a less formal game setting.  We allow players 11 years of age or older to begin at this age group.
  • Referee in our rec program – This doesn’t require a USSF certification.  However, it does require a bit more knowledge of the game.  We have u10, u12, and u15 age groups.  We typically try to have adults/certified referees for the u15 age group and referees older than the age group they are officiating for u10 and u12.
  • Referee more broadly for CYSC and other clubs in “travel” soccer – This requires a USSF license which you take an online course and and in-person field evaluation.  You must be 14 years of age or older to start the USSF licensing course.
